Role of Governors

An important part of the role of the governing body is to help set the vision and values for the school, and the policies and procedures that act as a framework for how the school is run. The daily management of the school is the responsibly of the Headteacher.

At Norton CP. the full governing body meet six times a year to discuss and agree the school’s business. This covers monitoring progress, reviewing policies and making recommendations. These cover:

• Finance & Staffing
• Assessment & Curriculum
• Health, Safety & Premises
• Pupils
• Headteacher Performance Management

In addition, our Finance and Resources Committee meets three times a year to review and monitor the school budget, staffing and health and safety matters.
